We're Open!

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Philadelphia, the ultimate indoor LEGO® playground, will officially open its doors to the public on Thursday, April 6, at 11 a.m. after a celebratory event at Plymouth Meeting Mall. Single-Day Admission Passes, Annual Passes and Birthday Party Packages are on sale now through the Discovery Center’s website.

“It has been an exciting journey to the grand opening of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia,” said Michael Taylor, General Manager for LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia. “We are excited to give families the unique opportunity to be immersed in a colorful world of creativity, learning and imagination beginning on April 6, just in time for when many students in the Greater Philadelphia region will be on spring break from school.”

The indoor attraction features an interactive LEGO-themed ride, a LEGO 4D Cinema and 10 separately themed LEGO play areas. The attraction located at Plymouth Meeting Mall is Merlin Entertainments’ first LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Pennsylvania. When it opens, it will be the fourth Discovery Center on the East Coast; ninth in the United States; and 17th in the world.

“Millions of people have visited LEGOLAND Discovery Centers around the world,” said Taylor. “The attraction provides two to three hours of repeatable LEGO play experiences and is ideal for families with children aged 3 to 10 who enjoy the fun and creativity of LEGO.”

The 33,000-square-foot Discovery Center features 10 LEGO Play Zones, including:

  • Imagination Express: An interactive LEGO ride that takes visitors on an adventure that starts at Brick Station and goes from a soapy bath all the way to outer space.
  • LEGO 4D Cinema: Guests will be on the edge of their seats as an incredible action adventure unfolds in 3-D before their very eyes. The film comes to life in the fourth dimension as flurries of wind, rain, lightening and even snow burst into the auditorium!
  • LEGO Racers - Build & Test: Let your imagination take over as you build your vehicle and take it to the ramps. Test your car and see how you can make it go faster! Once you have built the ultimate race car, time its speed on our test track. With times recorded to the hundredth of a second, it might be a close competition between you and your friends!
  • LEGO® NINJAGO Training Camp: Train through interactive build challenge activities to improve your flexibility, agility, ingenuity and LEGO brick building skills to help protect NINJAGO from its marauding enemies. Complete your training in the NINJAGO Laser Maze.
  • Pirate Adventure Island: Go on a swashbuckling quest in the soft play area aboard a LEGO-themed pirate ship. Adventure through whimsical scenarios as you climb the rigging, walk the plank, capture the flag or escape down the slide to make it ashore to the island’s castle.
  • LEGO® Friends: Tell a story with Andrea, Mia, Olivia, Stephanie and Emma as you add your own creations to the colorful LEGO® Heartlake City.
  • Earthquake Tables: Visitors can build their own LEGO skyscrapers and see if their creations can survive the shaking earthquake-stimulating tables.
  • DUPLO® Park: Little builders can let their imaginations loose in our DUPLO® Park. Build a colorful DUPLO flower for the farmer's garden, climb up a small hill and slide down the other side or play on our special big soft bricks.
  • MINILAND®: See iconic Philadelphia landmarks recreated from nearly 1.5 million LEGO bricks.

“Each day, there will be 25-minute workshops led by experienced LEGO builders in the Creative Workshop,” said Michael Nieves, Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Philadelphia. “We’re all looking forward to showing our guests new building skills and ways to express their imaginations with LEGO bricks!”

Single-Day Admission Passes are available for purchase online starting at $19 per person. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $24 per person. Annual Passes are also available for purchase through the Discovery Center’s website and at the door. Annual Pass holders receive unlimited access to the attraction for 12 months and benefits including café, LEGO® Shop and birthday party discounts and invites to exclusive events. The Annual Passes pay for themselves in less than three visits.

On April 6, families are invited to join attraction representatives and local officials for the grand opening of the attraction, which will kick off with a parade through the mall led by the Philadelphia Mummers at 10:30 a.m. followed by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony.
